The Gallia County Chamber of Commerce is proud to name The Wounded Goose as the September 2015 Chamber Spotlight Business of the Month.
In 2006, The Wounded Goose started out as a small catering business called Black Tie to Barbeque. As the catering business grew, the need for a more spacious kitchen arose. The current location was remodeled to serve as a catering business and restaurant, with its doors opening to the public on April 1, 2009.
With a diverse menu that changes yearly, The Wounded Goose strives to offer something for everyone. Visitors from all over the United States and as far as Russia, Puerto Rico and Cuba have dined at the restaurant. The Wounded Goose has been featured in Discover Ohio and Ridin' On magazines and continues to receive favorable online reviews from both local and out of town diners.
Throughout the month of September each year, The Wounded Goose collects items on behalf of Vinton Baptist Church’s food pantry. “The food bank at Vinton Baptist Church feeds more than 6,000 families in Gallia County each year,” said owner Kat Brabham. “We are happy to be able to do this for them once a year. By the end of each September, our foyer is typically full of donated items. At the beginning of October, we will load up the Goose truck and deliver the collected items to the food pantry.”
Anyone donating a canned food, non-perishable food or toiletry item receives a scratch off coupon, redeemable in October. Each coupon is a winner and will entitle the food drive donor to a free appetizer, a free meal or a free dessert. On the last Thursday of September 2015, The Wounded Goose will host a “Pay What You Can” dining event. Any individual or family facing financial strain can visit the restaurant on September 24th, order anything they like from the menu and pay whatever amount they can afford for the meal.
The Wounded Goose will be closed from October 4th-7th while the dining room undergoes a few updates and improvements. For more information, please visit them online at woundedgoose.com, in person at 14728 SR 554, Bidwell, or contact them by phone at (740) 388-0565.
