Mixing a lot of information with a little humor, Holzer Center for Cancer Care, Executive Director, Ken Moore was the guest speaker at the June First Friday.
Mr. Moore touched on a variety of topics relating to the Holzer Center for Cancer Care's services, state of the art equipment and staff.  According to Mr. Moore, the Center follows the same protocols as some of the top cancer centers in the country, including Ohio State, and strives to offer the most up-to-date treatments and services.
In addition to its medical services, Mr. Moore discussed the amenitites of the Center, including the Healing Garden and staff dedicated to walking patients step-by-step through the treatment process.  Also, the Center houses an appearance center and impressive resource center.
A joint venture between Holzer Medical Center and Holzer Clinic, both entities strive to make sure the Center has the newest technology available for treatment of a variety of cancers.  "With the merger looming between Holzer Health Systems and Holzer Clinic, they will be a force to be reckoned with" said Moore.
Mr. Moore pointed out very few counties the size of Gallia have so many medical resources, so close to home.
Attending the First Friday were representatives from the Ohio Valley Bank, Bossard Memorial Library, the City of Gallipolis, the Gallia County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Gallia County ED, Carquest and Community Link.

The next First Friday will take place in September due to the upcoming River Recreation Festival and Gallia County Jr. Fair.
